Flu shots
A flu shot every year is the best protection your child has against a week in bed, and against the small number of flu cases that turn serious. We give them in the office all season.
What the visit includes
- Seasonal flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older
- Two doses for some young children getting it for the first time
- A quick check that your child is well enough for the shot that day
- Updated immunization record for school or daycare
- Honest answers to any question you have about the vaccine
How to book
Appointments are made by phone. Call (630) 784-8600 and tell us what the visit is for, or send the request form and we will call you back. Walk-ins are welcome. Calling first lets us have a room ready and keeps your wait short.
Monday–Thursday 11 AM – 5 PM · Friday 11 AM – 4 PM · Saturday 10 AM – 1 PM · Sunday Closed
Insurance
We accept Medicaid, All Kids and most major insurance plans. No insurance? Uninsured and self-pay families are welcome. Call us before the visit and we will check your plan with you.
Good to know
- Children under 9 getting their first flu vaccine need two doses, four weeks apart. We will tell you if that applies.
- Flu season in Illinois usually runs October through May. Earlier is better, but a late shot still helps.
- We can give the flu shot at a well-child visit, a physical, or a visit made just for the shot.
- Parents and caregivers: your own flu shot protects the baby at home who is too young for one.
